Every year, in March – hundreds of thousands of people flock to the city of Austin, Texas for the conference known as SXSW – South by Southwest. With speakers from the world of technology, healthcare, entertainment and politics, the conference is about consumer-centric experiences. While CES is about technology’s latest gizmos and Mobile World Congress is about the upcoming infrastructure and means of mobile interactions, SXSW is truly set apart by the branded experiences.
This year, for the first time ever, NTT i3 will be leading a panel of distinguished thought leaders. Our panel is titled” Startups and Big Companies Working Together.” The discussion will be a lively one, focused on whether or not the old adage – “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts” – can be applied to a world where startups and big companies work together in previously unthinkable ways? Can more, and not less, creativity and progress be made when a relationship that was once defined as ‘disruptor and disruptee’ decide to work together – in public? What can result when a company blessed with seemingly endless resources, but burdened by their own historic processes – meets and decides to take a risk with a startup or an entire community that sees its own lack of resources as a beautiful constraint when partnered with the power of its own passion and conviction?
Our session takes place at the Hyatt Hotel in Austin on Thursday, March 15 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. NTT i3’s CEO Nina Simosko will be speaking, along with startup consultant Chris Shipley, chief futurologist Aric Dromi and Cintrifuse CEO Wendy Lea. The panel will share insights on what happens when startups and big companies come together and disrupt how business is done.
